Book Review: The Boy in the striped pyjamas

Hello people ,
Haven't posted in a while because I've been too busy to read much so I'm still in the middle of the book I am currently reading but I realised that there were some books I read in the past that I haven't reviewed on this blog yet so I thought to cure my writing itch for the day I'll write a review on one of those - the boy in the striped pyjamas , you've all probably heard of the film but this isn't a film review it's a book review. So here goes:
The Cover:
File:Theboyinthestripedpyjamas.jpg
This Book is about a young German boy called Bruno who is growing up in second world war Germany, his father was high up in the Nazis ( what job or person it doesn't tell you) and when the beginning of the holocaust starts Bruno's father is promoted and is sent to live in Poland and work at what Bruno thinks throughout the book is called outwith and isn't shown to be some other famous place until the end of the book. With having no one to play with around 'outwith' apart from his know it all sister bruno sees outwith through his bedroom window and wonders why they are all dressed the same , one day while he's exploring alone he sees a little boy about his age near the fencing of 'outwith' and goes over to talk to him. After talking to him for a while he finds out that he is a jew and they become good friends. within a few months they spend everyday talking at the side of the fence and Bruno sees Shmuel as his best friend no matter how different they are. One day Shmuel says that his father has gone missing inside the camp and Shmuel has looked everywhere and misses him terribly. Bruno agrees that if Shmuel can find striped pyjamas like the ones Shmuel wears for bruno then bruno would come into the camp and help Shmuel to find his father. What will happen when Bruno goes into the camp and what will they find?

This book was compelling and made me cry for hours on end.Unless you have heard of what this book is about you would realise it until right at the end because it is written so sensitivly and from the point of view of bruno - someone who has no idea what is going on- and is written innocently enough for it to be hidden until the end.
I loved this book and I Reconmend it to anyone who wants to make themselves cry a lot.

Book Review : A Walk to remember

Hello again , It's only been a couple of days since my last review but I read quite fast. I finished this book late last night but I didn't have time earlier or last night so I'm writing it now.
Anyway enough about my reading and writing habits and onto the review!
This is the cover:

The Book is A walk to remember by Nicolas Sparks and looking at the cover really doesn't give you any indication of what the book is about so I wouldn't analyse the cover too much or judge it by it's cover because I've read the book and don't even understand the cover.
Anyway onto the book's plot, It starts as Landon Carter at 57 explains that when he was seventeen his life was changed forever and that he is going to tell the story of how it changed. He starts talking about his childhood and his rich family before he gets onto the actual story that he is telling and while this drags on a little it is all relevant later in the story. He then starts explaining about how he chose performing arts in his senior year because he thought it would be easy, this is how he gets into the kind of meeting with Jamie Sullivan. I say kind of because he has known her his whole life but this is the first time he actually has a real conversation with her. She is the ministers daughter, a Minister who Landon and his friends used to call names and pick on him. Despite being misjudged by her peers Jamie doesn't change who she is to fit around other people , he describes her to make her seem like a misfit who wears jumpers and her hair always in a bun but he never says she is ugly and observes that she could be pretty if she tried harder to be. He also explains that she is one of the most giving people you will ever meet and volunteers and an orphanage most weekends.
He takes her to the homecoming dance later in the story only because he has to go because he is class president and doesn't have a date. this starts their friendship and she asks him for a favour to be in a play that her father wrote as a leading roll opposite her. When he accepts they start spending time together and he soon realises that he has unintentionally fallen in love with her. After a while he makes his move and kisses her and tells her the depth of his feelings for her. This is where I have to stop telling you any more because if I keep going I know I will reveal Jamie's secret and ruin the shock of this particular story.
Like all Nicolas sparks books it is so romantic and it pulls you into and tells you mostly everything about the characters from their upbringing to their deepest thoughts and feelings which makes you fall in love with them and the same thing goes for Landon and Jamie. By the time the twist came to the story I was so emotionally attached through the story that for the last half of the story I literally had to have a box of tissues next to me because I cried so much. The Ending was my favourite part of the book because instead of telling you exactly what happened he leaves you to decide for yourself what happened because he says it so one of two things could have happened and you can decide which one you would rather it be.
In a whole this book just made me feel so many emotions and I couldn't put it down after a started the first page. The only reason I put it down was to go to school which may be pathetic to some people but to me it's perfectly normal. I felt every emotion for the characters in the book and That is definitely what I look for in the perfect book.

Book Review : Message In a Bottle

Hello, another book review for any one who wants to read it. This is another book review on a Nicolas Sparks novel that I just finished reading so for anyone who is bored of my reviews on Nicolas sparks' novels stop reading now.
This is the Cover Of the Book:

The theme of this book is as the title suggests is Messages in bottles that are sent out to sea. It starts off in the future after the story the book explains has happened with Teresa Osborne - A columnist from Boston - is reliving the last two years. It then goes into the past and shows how the whole story started and how Teresa's life had been turned upside down with one jog in the summer. While she is Jogging on Holiday in cape cod she stumbles across a bottle with a message inside. After she reads it she is so touched by it's content that she shows it to her friend Deanna who Suggests publishing the heartfelt letter from a man named Garrett to a woman named Catherine in her column. They change the names to initials and publish it. Later a reader calls Teresa and explains to her that she has found another letter by the same person and emails it to her , she also finds another letter again by Garrett to Catherine and she is intrigued by finding three heartfelt letters from the same person and finds herself thinking about Garrett and confides in Deanna who helps her track down Garrett and convinces her to go find him she does so and then he asks her to go sailing with him they eventually start a long distance relationship and he bonds with her son - Kevin - and they end up falling in love harder than both of them could have anticipated. but what happens when Garrett finds out what drew Teresa to his small town? and will his undying feelings for Catherine ever subside?

This book really renewed my faith in destiny and as always Nicolas Sparks draws you into the story and makes you believe that everything can really go right for the main characters then right then when you just think everything is going right , everything suddenly goes wrong and you're left feeling sad and losing faith in true love at all , but even if the ending of this book got abit depressing i still loved every part of it and it left me wishing for more!

Love,
